How you qualify for Google AdSense

Just because you have a website doesn't automatically make you an ideal host for Google AdSense. Google actually picks the sites they allow to run AdSense ads and their qualifications can be rather stringent. Some of the qualifications your site has to have are:

Relevance


Your site has to be relevant to the type of product or business being promoted through the AdSense ad. If your site is about dental care, for example, only ads pertaining to dental-related products and services will be placed on your site. That way, there is a higher likelihood that your site's visitors will click on the link to the ads appearing on your website.

Traffic


A site has to have a healthy following in order to be considered for an AdSense ad. If you're an advertiser, this is important. Google makes sure that the sites that post these ads enjoy reliable exposure and that the placement of sites is maximized.

Content value

Content matters because it helps create buzz and relevance for a website. If you browse for sites online, you won't find any site hosting an Adsense ad that doesn't offer relevant content. Google is picky that way.

Site construction


A site that is always 'under construction' or features too many broken links is not a good site for AdSense ads. Visitors will be frustrated trying to navigate that site and it clearly shows sloppy management, something that Google doesn't want anything to do with. So if your site needs a bit of repair, do it now.

Using Adsense in internet marketing

If you pass Google's qualifications as a publisher, AdSense ads can start appearing on your website soon enough. However, there is a strategy you can use to ensure that you maximize this opportunity. The trick is to find the right keywords. For this, you can perform a simple search online.

Consider the type of niche your website belongs to and use a few keywords on Google's search engine. If your internet marketing website is about baseball cards, for example, use related keywords and key phrases such as 'baseball cards', 'baseball memorabilia' or 'baseball collectible cards'. Your aim is to find out if there are other websites selling the same thing. If there are, then you have a pretty good idea of what type of competition you have.

If you want to maximize content on your website to focus AdSense ads on a particular keyword, perform a search online if there are truly AdSense ads for those. If there are, you might want to write content on your site that caters to those particular keywords. This is a good technique if you want to make adjustments on your website to attract higher-pay ads.

As an advertiser using AdSense for your internet marketing business, that's an entirely different story. Once you open an account with Google and fix the price at which you're willing to pay for the clicks or impressions on your ads, you pretty much give them free rein where to place your ad. You can be assured, however, that your ads are in good hands.
